Dr. Cigarroa has been featured on numerous national news outlets, for his extensive knowledge of border medicine, and has been the subject of several national and state magazines, including The Washington Post, New York Times and Texas Monthly, which recently referred to him as the ‘Dr. Fauci of South Texas’ for his hard-line views on transparency when it comes to communicating the facts about Covid-19. Furthermore, when the pandemic hit his beloved city of Laredo, Dr. Cigarroa took to making medical house calls caring for Covid patients. He is much loved and revered by all in his community.
